Core-loss
Core Loss Testing provides a quick and efficient method for determining core losses found in the core steel of stators, rotors, and armatures. Applied Dynamics recognizes that core loss is a significant cause of wasted electrical energy that may be caused by overheating during operation or during winding burnout, as well as from physical damage.
Voltage Test
The Step-Voltage Test is necessary to ensure that the ground wall insulation and cable can withstand the normal day-to-day voltage spikes the motor typically sees during operation. Applied Dynamics performs the Step-Voltage Test so the operator can see if the motor will start and stop without failing in service.
VPI
Motors, generators, and coils up to twelve feet in diameter are processed under vacuum and pressure with polyester resin to provide void-free electrical windings. The VPI process provides maximum penetration of resin throughout the turns of individual coils.
Data Logging
The advantage of data loggers is that they can operate independently of a computer, unlike many other types of data acquisition devices. Data logging is useful to track and verify the smooth operation of controls and other equipment.
Infrared Thermography
At Applied Dynamics, we are experts when it comes to utilizing the latest infrared thermography techniques and machinery. We have found that infrared thermography is one of the better methods for checking temperatures of distribution panels, electrical equipment, motors, roof systems, refractory materials, and even transmission lines.
